Apiced Como un bálsamo para los oídos, te llevan en un viaje hacia la oscuridad absoluta, su sonido, se mueve en un vaivén de conflicto y una delicada danza, entre la estridencia y lo sutil. ¿alguna vez han estado en medio de una masa de gente que te lleva de un lado para otro? éste proyecto te hace lo mismo, su música abraza tu mente, sus guitarras estridentes y profundas te llevan hacia la cima una montaña, te hacen llegar hasta el punto más alto haciendo estallar tus emociones, y luego, un elegante piano te envuelve y como si pesaras como una pluma, te dejas llevar por el viento y comienzas a caer lentamente hasta la profundidad del abismo. MATH ROCK RETROSPECTIVE // LYNX (1997-2001) It’s hard not to talk about Lynx without immediately bringing up Dave Konopka, who played guitar in the band before going on to play in one of the most important bands of the last decade regardless of genre: Battles. Konopka got his start crafting a unique sound with Lynx in the late 90’s, and laying seminal influence for the kind of sounds math rock was evolving into. Lynx was formed in Boston in 1997 and the lineup consisted of Konopka on guitar , Paul Joyce on bass, Dale Connolly on guitar, and Mike Hutchins on drums. Hutchins and Joyce played in a number of amazing underground math rock bands in Boston in the 90’s including Pizza, Helms, and Challenger, while it was the first band Konopka ever played in and Lynx quickly came on the scene and became the pinnacle of Boston 90’s math rock. Hutchins persuaded the band to move to Chicago in 1999, which was right at the tail end of the peak of the math rock scene of the Chicago scen
